The iFleet continues. Wonder what the collective noun for gadgets is? Anyway tomorrow should be delivered, a shiny new iPhone. Well, I’m not exactly keeping all the gadgets, the recently purchased iTouch has been “reset” and carefully re-packaged to become a birthday present for my daughter. I was so impressed with it, rather than buy another one I went for the addition of the phone and camera functions.
Well it relieves the boredom. . .

At the end of this week it will be two years since I had a break of more than two days in a row. I’ve reached one of those times in your life when you ask “what the hell am I doing!”
It feels like I’m going ‘stir crazy’ without being in jail !
The joys of having your own business with a recession thrown in, in the last year. . .

It’s like people are coming out of hibernation. Business is, thankfully, picking up.
Although sophisticated we are, after all, animals. The animal in us doesn’t want to go out in the cold and dark and of course we’ve had plenty of both this winter.
Life feels like it’s speeding up. Hooray!
I’ve often thought if I had the money, I’d live in the northern hemisphere in the British summer and the southern hemisphere in our winter. The odd week here and there in the snow for a bit of skiing.
Well that’s enough dreaming about money, I’d better concentrate on earning some!

Don’t think there’s anything more annoying than when a new gadget doesn’t work. But when you get two and they don’t work! Anyway the next ‘new’ BlackBerry is here and the iPod Touch is coming tomorrow or the day after.
Looking on the bright side, literally, it looks like Spring is finally here. 14 ‘c with sunshine and people walking around with just t-shirts on. Turn the central heating off !
Just need business to pick up like the weather and I can afford some time off. . .

Well, I’ve worn out the ‘trackball’ on my BlackBerry, that I just happen to be writing this post with. A man in a van’s coming tomorrow to swap it for a new one. The trackball’s demise was what got me thinking “shall I get an iPhone as well, just in case”. I talked myself out of the iPhone but to fulfil the new gadget urge there is an iPod Touch winging its way to me.
Could this be a new romance blossoming with Apple products? We will see. . .

Luncheon with the Lord Mayor of London, not me though, some of my clients. Some very civilised people, quite affluent but not ill-mannered like some wealthy people can be.
I live approximately 25 miles from the City of London and the Mansion House but don’t get to this part of the world too often. Work is usually airport based. I have been into London many times though but today – Wow!!! The sun was out again dawn ’til dusk and the architecture, the Thames, everything just stood out everywhere you looked. Bit hard to take photos while driving but I got one decentish image of St. Pauls.
The only niggle of today’s greatness was the proverbial ‘jobs worth’. “You can’t stop there!”. To which I replied “What are my passengers meant to do? Jump in as I cruise past slowly?”. They are everywhere! (J-Ws).
Reading back my recent posts I’m seeing a pattern. Life seems to be good if the sun is shining. Am I suffering from S.A.D. or do I just need to live nearer the Equator?

Until next time.

Wow! More by luck than judgement, wishing March was here, but wall to wall sunshine from dawn ’til dusk. It got up to 12 ‘c at one point as well. Makes up for the torrential rain February threw at us yesterday!
On the subject of wishing for sunny, warm weather – a friend has just completed the sale of his house and is in the process of re-locating to Brazil. The best bit is he’s said “come out whenever I want”! Better get some Samba lessons in!
Probably should have done it before I started this blog but a another friend has revamped their blog, which looks great, and has a ‘blogroll’ so I can get some ideas to make this one look better.
Until next time.

It’s not quite over, but, I can quite safely say that was the quietest February work-wise I have known in ten years. People just haven’t seemed to want to travel anywhere, for business or pleasure. With unemployment still around the 2.5 million and the coldest winter for a long time I can sort of see why.
Then yesterday on the news British Airways vote to go on strike! Is it me? Surely with the economy as it is and passenger numbers down, they should be laying low and thinking themselves lucky to have a job. Perhaps it’s because I’m self-employed?
Oh well, probably comes under the term ‘wishing you life away’ but – roll on March! Lighter evenings and warmer temperatures.

Well I’ve got ‘life’ because I’m alive. Liberty, well, I’m free to go about my business freely ie. I’m not in prison. The pursuit of happiness – this seems to be the key!
I’ve been reading recently from a few sources that this is the case, including business coaching and spiritual leaders. The best and simplest quote was “Do happy, be lucky”. Which, when I think back, seems to ring true in my life. Perhaps that’s what the phrase “happy-go-lucky” means?
“Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be…” – Abraham Lincoln. Me thinks it time for a concerted effort for said happiness!
Until next time
